We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Accounting Accountant to oversee project-related financial activities, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support effective project cost management.
The role requires strong expertise in project accounting, budgeting, cost tracking, financial analysis, and reporting. Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounting activities related to multiple projects from initiation through completion.
- Monitor project budgets, actual costs, commitments, and financial performance.
- Prepare and maintain project financial reports and management dashboards.
- Review project expenses, invoices, purchase orders, and supporting documentation.
- Perform project cost analysis and identify budget variances.
- Prepare monthly project accounting and financial reports.
- Support revenue recognition, billing, accruals, and project cost allocation.
- Monitor accounts receivable and project-related outstanding balances.
- Work closely with project managers to track financial performance and forecasts.
- Assist with project budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Ensure accurate recording of project transactions in the accounting system.
- Investigate financial discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Maintain accurate financial records and project documentation.
- Assist internal and external auditors with project-related financial information.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial controls and project accounting processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a project-based environment.
- Strong knowledge of project accounting and financial reporting.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and variance analysis.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent.
- Experience working in technology, construction, consulting, or other project-driven organizations.
- Experience with ERP platforms and project accounting modules.
- Knowledge of project revenue recognition and billing processes.
- Experience preparing financial reports for senior management.
